You are welcome to use the CHDC library.  A library which caters for the information needs of the teaching staff and students of CHDC.  But can also extend our services to other researchers after seeking permission to use the library from the Director, CHDC, Makerere University Library and Albert Cook Library.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY

The library is located in the School of Public Health in the Child Health and Development Centre (CHDC)  Department. The library is a branch library to the Albert Cook library located in Mulago  Hospital near the Anatomy Department and Makerere University Library located in Makerere University.  (Links for Albert Cook Library and Makerere University library are provided at the end of the page).

CHDC library was established in 1989 to cater for the academic and research information needs of CHDC.  CHDC being a Multidisciplinary Centre which handles a number of research programmes at district, national and international levels to inform policy, academics and collaborative research networking with other research  organisations. The library specializes in acquiring information to support the following frequently researched research programmes:

1.  Capacity Building and Training Programme 

2.  Child Development and Wellbeing Programme 

3.  Disabilities, Technology, and Child Health Programme 

4.  Families, Parenting & Child Health Programme

5.  Health Systems Strengthening Programme

6.  Non-Communicable Diseases Programme 

OPENING HOURS

MONDAY – FRIDAY  8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m

Closed on weekends and public holidays.
