This is an MRC/UVRI Uganda Project undertaken with Dr Siu Godfrey of CHDC as collaborator. The study sought to obtain essential basic data for a proposed dual centre (Uganda and South Africa) Randomized Control Trial of an early parenting intervention aimed to reduce child aggression and behaviour disturbance. The project (i) obtained estimates of the prevalence of aggression and behaviour disturbance in young Ugandan children; and (ii) obtained qualitative data on local constructs of child behaviour and discipline strategies. Parallel studies were undertaken in South Africa as well and several papers were published
