A departmental needs assessment and prioritization of Academic and Research Excellence was conducted by Prof. Bruce Kirenga, Principal, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. He underscored the critical role of Principal Investigators in grant writing to mobilize resources in support of departmental initiatives, given the insufficiency of university funding. He further highlighted the importance of online visibility, policy influence through advocacy, scholarly publications, and community engagement.
