This event was organized by CHDC to bring together key actors involved in addressing VAC within the health sector. In this meeting actors within heath sector demonstrated their interest to play an active role in preventing and responding to violence against children, and highlighted the various ways in which health actors interface with children including those exposed to violence.
While the public health approach to addressing violence against children was applauded by the participants, many actors were involved responding to violence once it has happened in a child’s life such as through the provision of health services and providing evidence to the legal system.
The project took six months (in 2015) to organize and it managed to bring together key actors involved in addressing VAC within the health sector
