at

Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Sir Albert Cook Library – PhD Lounge, Mulago Upper Hill Road, starting at 9am.

The study supported by the Government of Uganda through MakRIF, was conducted by MakCHS researchers led by Dr. Aggrey Dhabangi in collaboration with Ugandan Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS)The study findings, in part have shown that about 20% of blood donors surveyed had low iron stores. UBTS has taken keen interest, with the view of exploring ways of preventing/or protecting particular donors at risk of iron deficiency. The results of that study merit consideration – for donor health purposes.
